Playing without an account

Your XP, the lessons you have finished, a lesson you are part way through and your choice of Simplified or Traditional characters are saved in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's data for this site removes them.

Signing in with Google

When you choose to sign in, Google tells us your name, your email address, your profile picture and an ID for your Google account. We never see your password.

We store those four things together with your XP and, for each lesson you finish, when you finished it and your fewest mistakes.

Cookies

Signing in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days; signing out removes it. A second cookie exists for a few minutes while the Google sign-in is in progress. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits to each page. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors.

Who handles your data

The site is hosted by Vercel, and its lesson and sign-in services and database run on Cloudflare. Google provides the sign-in. Like any website's hosts, they process technical details such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages.

Children

The lessons are suitable for young children and can be played without an account, in which case we collect no personal information. Signing in is meant for a parent or another adult using their own Google account. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Deleting your data

Email support@trynihao.com from the address on your account and we will delete the account and its progress. If you play without an account, clearing your browser's data for this site is all it takes.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
